Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using Orca (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). You are asked to review and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy during sign-up, and you cannot complete registration without doing so. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Orca. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and that your use of the App complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
3. Account registration
You create an account by signing in with your Google account via Google Sign-In. We use Google’s official OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect protocols to authenticate your identity — your Google password is never shared with Orca. Upon first sign-in, you are assigned an auto-generated anonymous username (e.g. “QuietFalcon482”) to protect your identity. You agree to provide accurate and truthful information during the profile completion process, including your date of birth, gender, and location. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activities that occur under your Orca account. You can revoke Orca’s access to your Google account at any time via Google Account Permissions.
4. User conduct
You agree not to:
• Use the App for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or impersonate any person or entity.
• Send unsolicited or spam messages through the connection request or chat features.
• Share content that is offensive, defamatory, pornographic, or otherwise objectionable.
• Share phone numbers, external links, or social media handles in connection requests or chats to circumvent the App’s safety controls — such content is automatically blocked by our moderation systems.
• Misuse the report or block features to harass other users.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or its backend systems.
• Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to access or interact with the App.
• Collect or harvest personal data of other users without their consent.
5. Connection requests and messaging
Orca limits the number of connection requests you can send per day to encourage thoughtful, quality interactions — your daily quota adapts to your reputation on the platform. You may send one intro message with each connection request, and chat is unlocked only when the recipient accepts. Incoming requests appear in your Messages inbox and Requests sheet, where you can accept or decline them. If your request is declined, you must wait 24 hours before sending another request to the same person. You agree to use these features respectfully and not to send content that violates these Terms.
6. Friends
Once you are chatting with someone, you may add them as a friend. Friendship is mutual: your real name and real profile photo are revealed to each other only when both of you have added one another. Either person can unfriend at any time, which immediately severs the friendship in both directions and re-anonymizes both profiles. Restoring a friendship requires both users to add each other again.
7. Posts and Explore
Orca lets you create posts — text, images, and polls — that other users can discover on the Explore feed and react to or comment on. Posts may expire automatically after a limited time. You are responsible for the posts you create and the reactions and comments you leave; all of it is subject to these Terms and our community guidelines.
8. User-generated content
You are solely responsible for the content you post on Orca, including your profile information, bio, profile photo, posts, comments, and chat messages. You grant Orca a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and process your content for the purpose of operating the App. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or our community guidelines.
9. Privacy and display picture controls
Orca allows you to choose between displaying your real photo or an anonymous avatar to other users. You can also control your visibility (everyone, same gender only, or hidden). You are responsible for your visibility and display settings. Other users see your approximate distance and general location name, never your exact coordinates. Only mutual friends can see your real name and real profile photo.
10. Safety, moderation, and reporting
Orca provides block, report, and content moderation tools, plus automated filters that screen connection requests and chat messages for phone numbers, links, social handles, and harmful content. You can block users, report users or specific messages that violate these Terms, and manage your blocked list from your profile. Our in-app Help Center explains how connecting, blocking, and reporting work. We reserve the right to suspend or ban accounts that violate these Terms, our community guidelines, or applicable law. Banned users may be prevented from creating new accounts.
11. Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile › Danger Zone › Delete Account. Account deletion removes your profile, interests, connections, and messages. This action is irreversible.
12. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user on the App.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Orca and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
14. Modifications to the App and Terms
We may update or modify the App and these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes to the Terms through the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.
